Kibble Palace, Glasgow - Alison & Stephen

Alison got in touch in May of this year, only 2 weeks after they decided to go ahead with the wedding at the end of July.

Alison & Stephen have been together for 9 years and have been engaged since Christmas 2022. They were keen to have a small wedding, with only their closest family present. This often leads to such a wonderful atmosphere on the day and makes my job a pleasure to do!

I was thrilled when I heard they’d booked Kibble Palace as their venue. It’s a truly unique setting for any couple getting married, and the South Wing makes for a well-lit and beautiful backdrop for the ceremony.

The Harp pictured below belongs to Sophie Rocks Harpist, who provided the music to accompany the ceremony. Sophie did an incredible job!

One key benefit of Kibble Palace from the point of view of the photographer, is that regardless of the weather, there are so many options for Family Photos, Group Photos and of course Couples Portraits! Whilst Alison & Stephen were lucky enough to have one of Glasgow’s rarely-seen sunny days, rain wouldn’t have disrupted their day in the slightest!

With the help of their celebrant, Aileen Watson, Alison & Stephen had put together a lovely ceremony. They chose to do a couple of Scottish Wedding Traditions such as Handfasting, drinking from a Quaich, and included their daughters by doing a last kiss. These all created such special moments for both the couple and their guests and the choice of what to do during the ceremony is often what stands out from the day.
